Somali translation

A member of the Afro-Asiatic language family, the Somali language has historically been influenced by a wide range of languages, including English.

The Somali language

Spoken by around 14 million people worldwide, the majority of which reside in Somalia, Somali translation could also be useful for connecting with populations in Djibouti, Ethiopia and Kenya. Somali is one of the most widely spoken languages of the Cushitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic family. Previously written using the Arabic alphabet, Somali is now mainly written in a Latin-based alphabet. This change occurred mainly due to British and Italian colonies. Because of Somalia’s colonial history, many Somalis also speak Italian or English. Arabic is also widely spoken and is also an official language of Somalia.
